Family: Jops & Gabz Wedding

December 04, 2012

It's always a privilege for us to be invited to weddings of friends and family members.  This December, it was my cousin's Joan to get married to Gabz and their wedding was held at the Shrine of St. Therese.  It was our first time to step into this Church and they picked a great one :D  Here are photos of the Paypon side of the Bride, excluding Gabz :)

Here are the newly-weds on their way out of the Church and getting a running start to their New Life.

With every wedding ceremony, there's usually some idle time as people are busy setting things up.  So, we kept the kids occupied with having their picture taken haha It's rare to see them all dolled up :)

The reception was held at The Pergola, just across the World Trade Center near Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.  Dana really enjoyed her first Virgin Mojito and if she had her way, she'd probably be drinking that the whole evening. :)

I couldn't resist taking a picture of Tracy with the Blood Red Sky behind her.

It was an enjoyable event, so thanks to Jops and Gabz and Congratulations!! :D

Event: Michael and Tere Glinoga Wedding

July 28, 2012

One of the highlights of our year was being invited to my cousin Tere's wedding to her husband Michael.  They were married at the Santisimo Rosario Parish in UST and Dylan was the Bible Bearer.  He wasn't used to people staring at him so he walked down the aisle in slow motion with his head to the floor.  It's like he wanted to disappear :)  He was still so cute to look at though :D  He was supposed to be wearing barong tagalog but we weren't able to get his in time.  It was a good thing his tie was still in line with the theme of the wedding.

Here is Tere making her grand entrance into the Church.

Look at his apprehension hehehe

After the wedding, we all trooped to the Hyatt Hotel in Malate.  The wedding reception was held at the Ballroom.  It was a good time to meet up with the rest of the family.  Like having your picture taken with your Dad whom you haven't seen in a long time and sharing a picture with the rest of Dad's male siblings.

We also shared the table with my sister Sharon and her family.  That's her there with husband Jowell and granddaughter Tracy.

Check out the kids' meal :)

After the reception, we left a little early, we took the time to take pictures in the lobby :)

Here's our picture at the photo booth that was a favorite hang out among the guests.  Dana really enjoyed this.  I love her smile in all the pictures :)

So, to Michael and Tere.. Congratulations!! Thank you for inviting us to share in your celebration! :D

Brian and Donna's Wedding

I realized that at my age, there are three events that I will most likely be often invited to - weddings, baptisms and funerals.  Last year, I made a promise to myself that if I get more invitations for get-togethers and chances for meet-ups with friends, I will not pass up on them.  So, when I received a personal invitation from Brian regarding his wedding today, I immediately said yes.

It's nice being personally invited to a person's wedding because it means that this person really wants you to be a part of their celebration.  It didn't matter that I would have to spend for it considering it was a strictly formal affair but it's a chance to really dress up and look good ;)

It also was a chance to meet up with other college buddies, Nancy and Grace, who shared the same table with Patrick and I.  The wedding was held at the Manila Cathedral.  That was also a good enough reason for me to attend the wedding ceremony.  I have lived in Manila all my life and yet I haven't been inside the Manila Cathedral hahaha  It was an impressive church - no one Brian wanted to get married here.  After the wedding, we all trooped to One Esplanade near Mall of Asia in Pasay for cocktails and the reception.

There's one word that I can use to describe Brain's wedding -  Bongga!! It's roughly the Filipino version for Extravagantly Fantastic! :)  This was a dream wedding for most brides I think.  Getting married in a very beautiful church.  Having your family and friends surrounding you on this very special day (there were around 300 guests if you were to count the number of tables at the venue).  Just the right dose of entertainment during the reception with Chico and Delamar hosting the program.  Very tasty food at the buffet tables.  Fireworks to cap the evening. :)  It was truly a day and a night to remember for both the couple and their guests.

Here are pictures while at the Manila Cathedral:

Here are pictures while at the Sunken Garden at One Esplanade.  We tasted different types of cheese!

We had fun having our pictures taken at the two photo booths there.  The second picture was cut and attached to a guestbook for Brian and Donna.  The rest of the pictures (the 3 small ones) were turned into refrigerator magnets.  How cool is that?! :)

Here we are inside the venue, Coral B at One Esplanade.  Grace and Fred arrived a little later but were still able to partake of the special buffet.

All Attendees received the small box which was full of chocolates and candy, while female attendees received the bigger box.  Guess what was inside the bigger box?  A jewelry box! :) Dana claimed it for herself :)

To Brian and Donna - Congratulations and Thank You for Inviting Us!

Meng & Vio's Wedding

It's always a good day when there's a wedding.  It's especially great since Dana has been invited by my cousin Meng to be one of the flower girls for his and Vio's wedding.  Dana was very excited!  It was also her first time to be a flower girl so she was nervous and wasn't particularly fond of wearing a dress hahaha What she did look forward to was the ManiPedi we had a day before the wedding hahaha

Here we are upon arriving at the Church.

Here are the couple with their Ninongs and Ninangs.

On the right is their entourage..

 Here are the kids. :)

Naturally, we can't have a wedding without us goofing off hahahah but we did this at home so as not to embarass ourselves and our newlyweds! hahahaha
