Walking around the 2017 Trans Sport Show

23 April 2017

It's summer and it's time for another car show!  This time, we went to the 2017 Trans Sport Show held between April 20-23 at the SMX Convention Center.  Patrick actually covered the event for Carmudi, so if you want to see better photos of the cars, check out the article here.  The Trans Sport Show's main attraction is the Nostalgic and Contemporary Car Competition but there are other events like the Moto Builds Pilipinas and plenty of automotive after-sales, custom-build services and related businesses to complete the experience.

I guess I have to say that we didn't take that many pictures of the cars (horrifying! I know) but I guess it's a testament to the event because there were just so many people in the venue that it was really hard to take decent photos :)

I guess being a mom and not a motoring journalist, I'm more interested in the food! LOL We saw Serenitea as well as a couple of food trucks on one end.

We tried this Homemade Gelato from a food truck called Mio Gelati.  They were generous with samples and we got to try the Willy Wonka and Ferrero flavors.  In fact, Dana bought a small cup of the Ferrero Gelato.  It was really good!

After Dana finished her gelato, we were drawn to the other side of the convention venue - the Moto Builds Pilipinas exhibit where we ogled rare (to us) Show Bikes :)

Later on in the day, I was surprised to see my High School friend Gwen who happened to be at the DDPAI booth which was right next to the Carmudi booth! Small world! :)

They were showcasing different dashcam cameras, tagged as Social Car Cameras, because they can take videos and photos and immediately sync and share them with social media through their mobile app that is available for all mobile platforms.  I think that every car owner needs to equip their car with a Social Car Camera that has a wi-fi function, is capable of taking remote snapshots (the camera comes with a remote snapshot button that can be attached anywhere within the vehicle), has a parking mode (monitors your vehicle while it's parked to protect you from hit and run), has high temperature protection and allows you to connect with a Social Community.

The other Social Car Camera variants even have GPS and Route Tracking, Front and Rear cameras, and Racing Mode (to record your driving behavior).

I'd say that the 2017 Trans Sport Show lived up to its name of being the Philippines' longest running motoring event.  We certainly had a lot of fun! :)
