Aah! The feel of the breeze from this vantage point was just too refreshing for a hot day!
Patrick was scheduled to do a photoshoot with the Ssangyong Musso this Sunday and we begged to go with him just to get out of the house :) We even had to leave the house at 5AM just to beat the traffic and get to the location so that the light will be viable :)
These are our pictures at the Pililla Wind Farm while Patrick and his videographer, Engelbert, were working hard :)
The Pililla Wind Farm is located near the Manila East Road in Pililla, Rizal.
Since we were coming from near SM North EDSA because we had to pick-up Patrick's videographer Engelbert from his home, we took a different route to Pililla Wind Farm. We took a leisurely route when we first went to the Pililla Wind Farm before, traveling via the Manila East Road from Ortigas Extension.
This time, we used this route:
- Ortigas Extension
- Sumulong Highway/Sumulong Memorial Circle
- At the Licos Park, follow E. Rodriguez Avenue (it's pretty much just one direction from hereon out)
- Magsaysay Avenue
- National Road
- Manila East Road
For breakfast, we stopped at a McDonald's in Tanay, Rizal. This was around 8AM.
Thirty (30) minutes later, we were at our destination, the Pililla Wind Farm! We stayed at the lower access road because it had less pedestrian and vehicular traffic which would make Patrick's and Engel's job easier since they'll be photographing and shooting videos of the Ssangyong Musso. There was a parking area, some food stalls and a short hike to a viewing plateau.
We got tired of hanging around with them since we had nothing to do or contribute to their work. So, we followed one of the guides that said there was a trail to get to a viewing deck. We passed the area with the food stalls and went up this hill. It was a good thing we were wearing rubber shoes because it gave us some traction going up.
At this time of day, there were hardly any people around so we had the view to ourselves :)
It was very windy as you can see :)
One minute, you have your hair under control, the next, you don't haha
We came back down when people started arriving. We saw Patrick and Engel shooting their video :)
We got to have our customary Car Photo :)
When it looked like that they were going to take longer, we asked that they drive us to the other area, with the Visitor's Center, about a couple of minutes drive uphill. By this time, the heat was beginning to affect us and we had probably guzzled a few liters of water among us :) Still, we still had to take some pictures :)
We were just disappointed that their restrooms (in the building behind me in the picture) were out of order. Instead, there were pay restrooms (P10 per person) provided by the stall owners here. Don't expect much though because they were rather "primitive" in the sense that it was just toilet bowls that you have to manually flush. There's no running water too.
Anyway, we sat down to rest at this spot behind the Visitor's Center. It was funny because every one who turned that corner would say variations of "Diyos ko, ang init!" (translated to "My God, it's hot!") and would fan themselves with their hands. Most of the females also had umbrellas clutched in their hands haha
I only noticed later on that my pendant that was originally colored aqua had turned white from the heat. And I guess that's why the skin around it was totally sunburned. It must have absorbed the sun's rays too much...Never thought it would happen!
Even though we were all sunburned and tired from walking and waiting, it was still a fun trip. Riding in the Ssangyong Musso was a dream. It was a pickup but it was pretty luxurious inside. The strong aircon was such an advantage and the wide seats were pretty comfortable. Thanks Ssangyong Musso! :)
