2019 Christmas Celebration

24 December 2019

Christmas Day - There's certainly cause for celebration in our family during this Holiday season.  We have all just been through hell and back and everyone just deserves a breather :)

We're all together, all healthy and have gotten a bit of rest.  The kids are at home because of Christmas break and we're just enjoying each other's company,

This is the true meaning of Christmas - Togetherness and Family Love..

Patrick's been continuing his therapy during this month of December and will probably continue on until next year.  Meanwhile, we're all just adjusting to being at home.  Medication have to be religiously taken.  Care must be taken with the preparation of Patrick's food, some dietary restrictions have been enforced.

During the Christmas break, Dana and I took a day off for ourselves.  We had our hair cut at Bench in SM City San Lazaro.  It's such a drastic hair cut for Dana that the hairstylist had to ask her if she was undergoing some emotional struggles haha  The thing was, she just wanted a change of pace since she's never had really short hair before.

I, on the other hand, needed a bit of pampering after being in the hospital for almost a month.  This bit of relaxation was just what I needed.  I also really loved the way the hairstylist cut my hair :)

When Dana and I went out we also bought the groceries we needed for our Christmas feast.  Everything was on a budget because the hospital bills really drained our resources and we only had enough jut for  a simple feast.

This was the first Christmas that we wouldn't be spending with the Aguilos and Escalante clan.  We didn't think that we could handle the drive yet and Patrick wasn't comfortable being with other people yet.  We were sorry to miss the festivities with them but we sent our love :)

The rest of our family dropped by on the 24th.  Patrick was in high spirits  as we all were :)

For some reason, we all had the same shade of shirts even though we never talked about it hahaha

Our shared feast - pretty standard fare for a Filipino gathering - Fried chicken, Lumpiang Shanghai, Noodles, Pesto Pasta, Ham and Cheese, Bulalo and Crabs :)  Oh and Leche Flan for dessert.  I think we also had cake...

The kids were troopers because we weren't even able to buy them gifts this year.  They were happy to receive gifts from other people so everything was cool :)

Even after Christmas, we find time to take pictures and celebrate how lucky we are.

Also, we were treated to a surprise visit by Patrick's friend Johann!  Since we weren't able to see him at the Aguilos' Christmas party, he decided to just drop by the house!  Thank you so much Johann! You don't know how much it means to everyone that you made time to see Patrick :)
