Dylan's Recognition Day AY 2018-2019

19 March 2019

It's that time of the year again!  It may be a cliche but time really flies and you end up being surprised because, here it is, one year of studies have just ended and summer vacation is just around the corner.

For Dylan, today marked his Recognition Day and he's excited about going up the stage and getting his medals. :)

Assembly time for the ceremonies was at 8:30AM.  We were there earlier so we could get pictures of him while he's still fresh hehe

When 9AM came, we were all assembled at the LES Social Hall together with all of the Special Education students.    I appreciated the fact that the organizers listened to our request that we be seated with our children because they can get antsy when they're surrounded by people they don't know or when the music is too loud or when they get bored.  With the teachers busy with the event, they can't really handle all the kids in their class, especially with kids like ours.  So thanks for that :)

Since they know that our students get easily bored and when they do they become harder to control, they allowed them to be the first to go up on stage and receive their awards.  They were all very excited since they practiced going up the stage before :)

Naturally, since they're done with their awards,  they were anxiously awaiting the time for them to participate in the dance number with the other kids.

They also had the opportunity to sing together with the rest of the students.

After the ceremonies, we all trooped to our classroom for lunch.

I never got to take pictures while everyone was eating because I was busy eating myself haha  Since the event lasted close to 3 hours, parents and kids were really hungry and there was like a food frenzy once everyone arrived :)  Some kids even became too agitated that they couldn't even eat so they had to go home.

Anyway, thanks to Teachers Ressie and Joyce for the love and care they've given Dylan.  Dylan has shown great improvement under them.  They're patient and open to ideas and are truly wanting to improve the kids' lives.

Congratulations Dylan for being a "Huwarang Mag-Aaral" and "Best in English" awardee this year :)  We're so proud of you :)
