Today, it's Dana's turn at Recognition Day. She received the "With Honors" award, among 6 other students in her grade level. We're really proud of her!!
Actually, we've told her often that it's okay if she doesn't get an award, that what's important is that she LEARNS and UNDERSTANDS. It's not about memorizing facts and details, though they are also important. But, it's better if she takes the lessons to heart and remember them well for there's more studying and practical applications in the future :)
But, having an award sure does make you feel like you've accomplished something, doesn't it? As long as she's happy and won't let it get into her head, it's fine :)
Congrats Dana!! :) We're proud of you!
We arrived early in school. Assembly time was 7:30AM but at 7:15AM, there were only a handful of us there. While waiting for the others to arrive, Dana took the opportunity to take pictures with her teachers who passed us by.
When the time came, everyone lined up outside the auditorium. Awardees were to come in with their parents or guardians for a photo opp before they proceeded to their seats. The auditorium was full because Grade 10 students were included for their Moving-Up ceremony. Dylan and I were fortunate to find a seat in the very back haha
After the Opening ceremonies, we just waited patiently for the awarding of the Grade 7 students. When it was time, we lined up, Dana got handed her award, posed for a picture and went back down the stage :)
