Looking at the Super Blue Blood Moon is Fascinating

31 January 2018

The Super Blue Blood Moon - sounds like a mouthful but it's a sight worth seeing since it rarely happens.  I only found out about it because Dana told us she had to take pictures of it for her Science class.

Admittedly, these are hardly award-winning photos but still, we had fun on the roof :)

We went up the roof around 7:30PM.  The moon was so bright and big at that point.  Dana was lecturing us about how this Super Blue Blood Moon is a trifecta of lunar occurrences - a supermoon (where the moon is closest to the earth), a blue moon when two full moons occur in the same calendar month, and a total lunar eclipse which casts a red hue on the moon.

We were lucky that the sky was clear and we can actually see the moon.  However, by the time 9PM arrived and we went back up to the roof, this was all we could see of the Super Blue Blood Moon hahaha

It was so small that it's nearly impossible to see it much less take a photo of it hahha

Still, there it was, a Super Blue Blood Moon!  If only we had a better camera hahaha
