It's that time again for United Nations' Day! This time, I'm glad this it's not about the costume but the culture of the nation that's being taught so Thanks Teacher Ressie!
The kids were asked to select a country and bring to school a sample of the dishes that represent it. Dylan naturally gravitated to Japan and we brought several helpings of Tamago Onigiri :)
We arrived early to set up the "Booth" that Dylan will use to serve his dishes. He was really quite excited about today because he wanted to share his love of Onigiri (rice balls). We prepared several rolls because the kids will share these and possibly invite some of the other teachers from the SPED Department too.
Soon enough his other classmates arrived and they set up their own booths. Aside from Dylan's Japan, we also had China, Philippines and Italy booths. Teacher also set up her own Korean booth.
Without further ado, each kid went around the world and sampled the dishes. Later on, some teachers arrived and the students eagerly served them :)
The day was a success! Everyone had fun and everyone had their tummies filled with delicious food :)
Yay! :)
