Review: What I loved about the Ford Everest Titanium 3.2L 4x2 AT

22 May 2019

We took the Ford Everest Titanium 3.2L 4x2 AT for a drive to Tagaytay and back to Manila on two separate occasions, first in April and then with this trip and I can honestly say it's one of the most comfortable trips I've had :)

Though I'm just a passenger and I can't say much about the ease of driving and the handling, I can remark about how comfortable I felt while riding in the Ford Everest Titanium.

I'll list down my favorites, so read on!

Review: L Square Hotel in Tarlac City

04 November 2018

The L Square Hotel in Tarlac was our home for 3 days and 2 nights, from November 02 to November 04 due to a death in the family that brought us back to this city.

We had a pleasant enough stay and this post will highlight what we loved about the place and will also include some bits of it that could be improved.

L Square Hotel is located at KM 120, MacArthur Highway, Barangay San Rafael, Tarlac City.

Hefty, tasteful dinner at Sambokojin in Megamall

05 December 2016

Even with the proliferation of buffet restaurants in the Metro, we've never had the chance to visit one.  When my niece, Den, called to invite us to dine at Sambokojin, we were ecstatic! :)  We finally have an opportunity to eat both Japanese and Korean dishes until our stomachs burst! :) Here's how it went :)

When in UP Diliman: Rodic's and The Chocolate Kiss Cafe

19 October 2016

Patrick and I rarely go out on our own.  We usually bring the kids with us because it's really nice going out as a family.  Also, we don't have a babysitter so we just bring them with us :)  But today, we thought it best that they stayed where they were since we were attending a cremation for Patrick's uncle on his mother's side.  At the back of my mind, I was already thinking about where we'll head to for lunch and naturally, when we're in the UP area, my first thought was Rodic's Diner.

A Baskin-Robbins Sundae Treat for the kids at Uptown Mall, BGC

12 October 2016

So, we were walking around aimlessly in Uptown Mall and the kids and I saw Baskin-Robbins along the way!  The kids were so excited because they know the brand from the movie, "Ant-Man".  Baskin-Robbins was where the character played by Paul Rudd, Scott Lang, used to work.  In honor of Ant-Man and of course, because we love ice cream, we tried it out :)

A taste of Ramen Kuroda at Mezza Residences

07 October 2016

If you follow my blog, you'll know that our family loves Japanese ramen.  We're always on the lookout for affordable yet delicious Japanese ramen throughout the metro.  We consider it good fortune to find some that are within the vicinity of our residence too.  That is why we were ecstatic when we found Ramen Kuroda at the Mezza Residences in Sta. Mesa, Quezon City.

Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant now at Robinsons Magnolia Food Court

02 October 2016

After buying our new 2 TB Seagate hard drive from our favorite computer shop, Dynamic PC in Gilmore, Patrick, Dylan and I headed to Robinsons Magnolia for lunch.  It's been a while since we've been to this Robinsons and we just walked around the mall looking for a new place to eat at.  When we got to the Food Court, we saw Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant and Patrick knew immediately that this is the place to eat at.

My impressions of the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Diesel Variant

29 September 2016

For about five (5) days, our family had the privilege of test driving the new 2016 Mazda CX-5 Diesel variant.  This post contains my impressions of the Mazda CX-5 from the point of view of the passenger, not a driver since I'm not one.  I'm going to say things about how I felt riding in the car.  I'm going to say how my kids felt riding in the car.  Our test drive took us around Las Pinas and all the way to Baguio City, giving us a really good picture of how the Mazda CX-5 handles itself in different road and weather conditions.

Good Taste Cafe and Restaurant in Baguio lives up to its name

27 September 2016

The trick to making the most out of a trip is to make sure that when you leave your hotel, you already have a complete itinerary prepared with some leeway for adjustments and back up plans.  This preparedness actually saved the night for us because in our search for the Star Cafe along Session Road, we ended up eating at a new favorite dining destination - the Good Taste Cafe and Restaurant!

Dining at the Mile Hi Diner at the Mile Hi Center in Camp John Hay in Baguio

27 September 2016

After the kids had their horseback riding adventure at Shalan ni Kabadjo, we knew it was time for some grub.  We passed by Mile Hi Center on the way to the Riding Center one time and we thought it would be a good idea to pick our restaurant from there.  Looking around, Dana chose to eat at Mile Hi Diner, I guess to avoid Tapa King and Dencio's which were Manila-based franchises.

Dinner at the iconic 50's Diner in Baguio City

26 September 2016

While here in Baguio, Patrick and I decided that we'd only eat at local restaurants and dining haunts because what's the point in traveling and educating our kids with the local culture if we're just going to end up at fast food franchises.  So, on our list of dining choices was the iconic 50's Diner at the corner of Upper Gen. Luna and Brent Roads.

Kids enjoyed making their own pizza at Amare La Cucina in Baguio

26 September 2016

Before we even went to Baguio, I already made a list of places that we wanted to dine at and on top of that list was the Amare La Cucina which was famous for having their own brick oven and they also let kids make the pizza they ordered.  After Mines View Park, we headed straight to Amare La Cucina which was fortunately in the same vicinity, located at the EGI Alberto Hotel near Wright Park.

Review: Exceptional stay at C Boutique Hotel Baguio

26 - 28 September 2016

I discovered C Boutique Hotel from the Deal Grocer site when they had a Getaway Deal (Cozy Baguio Stay for 3 in a Deluxe Suite with Breakfast) which I subsequently purchased.  All I can say is that I don't regret my purchase because our stay was exceptionally satisfying.  The location, the room, the breakfast and most importantly, the service, all contributed to an enjoyable stay.

Tokyo Tokyo's new Makirrito is a Delight!

22 September 2016

When we do our grocery shopping at Robinsons Otis, most of the time we end up eating at Tokyo Tokyo because we love their dishes. First, we love Japanese food.  Second, they're delicious! and Third, they're affordable.  Also, they're convenient because they're just right there :)

On our usual jaunt for dinner after grocery shopping, we spotted something new on the menu - MAKIRRITO!  It's a maki upsized into a burrito! :)  There were two flavors - Samurai Karaage and California Tempura.  See how the kids liked them :)

Purchased two Philips Jelly LED Table Lamp from Lazada

20 September 2016

I recently bought 2 Philips Jelly LED Table Lamps from Lazada.  I found the process efficient, easy, professional and hassle-free.  I took a couple of days to test the lamps before I wrote this post so at least I could actually say that it works. I'll describe the process for those of you who are a bit leery of online shopping (yeah, I was one of you) and describe how it went when I plugged in our two Philips Jelly LED Table Lamp.

Ramen for 100 pesos or less at Erra's Vest Ramen in Malate, Manila

25 June 2016

Today, we received a treat from my cousin Joyce who asked me to take the kids somewhere nice for the day.  Patrick and I decided to go to Erra's Vest Ramen in Malate, Manila as they're known for authentic Japanese ramen for P100 or less.  Since we all love ramen and the price is a great come-on, we all trooped to Erra's Vest Ramen to explore their offerings.

First time dining at Chopstop SM City Sta. Mesa

16 December 2015

Today, there was a declaration of "No Classes" because of Typhoon Nona.  Though Metro Manila experienced some heavy rain, it was manageable because it wasn't continuous.  Mostly, it was just really dark and windy.  It was kind of fortuitous for Dana and I because we needed to go to the mall to buy her exchange gift and other stuff for her class Christmas party.   So off we went to SM City Sta. Mesa because it was the closest mall and if it rained really hard, it would still be easier to get home from.

Purchased Collection 2000 Extreme 24Hr Felt Tip Liner from CashCashPinoy

14 December 2015

So, emboldened by my initial purchase with CashCashPinoy which I posted here, I proceeded to purchase another product, this time using their Cash on Delivery option.  The offer that I opted for was the Collection 2000 Extreme 24Hr Felt Tip Liner which was available for P139.

Trying out the Lucky House Lumpia and Fried Chicken restaurant along A. H. Lacson Street

02 November 2015

Today was not a holiday even though the country was commemorating All Souls' Day.  Dana's school though made it a holiday so she didn't have to return to school until tomorrow.  It was a regular day spent doing household chores.  I should have gone to the cemetery to visit my Mom but as she is buried in the US, I couldn't and just thought about her during the day, as I always do.

But time really flies when you're doing something and then it was evening and we didn't have anything to eat.  Patrick suggested we try out the Lucky House Lumpia and Fried Chicken restaurant along our street.  We passed it before on our way home one time and we were intrigued because it was new.

Book Review: Shades of Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon

After reading Book 1 of the series, I was caught up in it and immediately read Book 2, "Destined for Doon".  I couldn't get enough of it and it was fortunate that BookLook Bloggers has the 3rd book, Shades of Doon, and offering complimentary copies in exchange for honest reviews so I took advantage of the offer.  I finished it so fast I hate myself for reading so fast hahaha

Summary
Book 2 ended rather excitingly and I'm afraid to say more because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it.  This book follows immediately after that fateful day and is all about the best friends Vee and Kenna encountering a new threat coming from a possible old nemesis.  New challenges are up for Kenna on the romance side too.

Review
Funny enough I thought this book was the end of the series.  I don't know why I thought that but it worked for the best because I didn't want the series to end.  The way that plot evolved at the onset made me think of conspiracy theories, second guessing myself as to whether the circumstances being described were real or imagined.

It's nice to see our protagonists having their share of good and fun days this time around.  But I guess that's really a kind of a foreshadowing for what's coming next.

I am sure that the "reveal" near the end of the book will be a shocker for readers ;)

I can't wait for 2016 for the next book :)
