Today, it's Dana's turn at Recognition Day.  She received the "With Honors" award, among 6 other students in her grade level.  We're really proud of her!!

Actually, we've told her often that it's okay if she doesn't get an award, that what's important is that she LEARNS and UNDERSTANDS.  It's not about memorizing facts and details, though they are also important.  But, it's better if she takes the lessons to heart and remember them well for there's more studying and practical applications in the future :)

But, having an award sure does make you feel like you've accomplished something, doesn't it?  As long as she's happy and won't let it get into her head, it's fine :)

Congrats Dana!! :) We're proud of you!

We arrived early in school.  Assembly time was 7:30AM but at 7:15AM, there were only a handful of us there.  While waiting for the others to arrive, Dana took the opportunity to take pictures with her teachers who passed us by.

When the time came, everyone lined up outside the auditorium.  Awardees were to come in with their parents or guardians for a photo opp before they proceeded to their seats.  The auditorium was full because Grade 10 students were included for their Moving-Up ceremony.  Dylan and I were fortunate to find a seat in the very back haha

After the Opening ceremonies, we just waited patiently for the awarding of the Grade 7 students.  When it was time, we lined up, Dana got handed her award, posed for a picture and went back down the stage :)

The next time that we both got up, it was for the Awarding of the parents of the Honor students, the awards given by the Family Council.   We could only take selfies with our phones and we had to rely on the school photographer to take our photos.  Patrick was in Bangkok for work so he missed this day.

What Dylan and I looked forward to during this day was this part hehe Dana told us about the dance that their Honors group will be performing.  She had a small part in it, portraying Ryan from Disney's High School Musical.  When she made her way across the stage her friends from Grade 10 erupted in screams and shouts hahaha  She was the star if I may say so :D

Anyway, after the festivities, families and friends were caught up in taking pictures as we were.

Well, after all the festivities, we went to the mall for a lunch treat :)  They were both so hungry after all :)

Congrats Dana!! We love you!! :D
